Casting a Puppeteer for an Upcoming Vaudeville-style Spectacle Show in Detroit
Permalink

Hey All,

I am casting a site-specific, vaudeville-style spectacle show for the Sidewalk Festival of Performing Arts in Detroit.  For the show, I am looking for a puppeteer to play two characters that have a ventriloquist/dummy relationship (the puppeteer is a character, and is also voicing the puppet).  Ventriloquism skills are a plus, but are not required.  The puppet will be a hand puppet.  Actors will interact with the audience, so comfort with improv is a plus, but not required.  The piece is about 13 minutes long, and we will repeat the show throughout the festival day.

The festival is on August 2, 2014.  We will have rehearsals during the week of Tuesday, 7/29 - Friday, 8/1.  The festival provides a stipend to performers.

Given the short timeline, I appreciate your prompt response.  Please e-mail me at SidewalkSpectacleShow@gmail.com if you are interested, and with any questions.

Thank you very much,
ilana Marks
