A West Bloomfield troupe of KIDS ON THE BLOCK puppets is looking for additional volunteer puppeteers. No experience is necessary . . . we will train. This is a group of disabled and non disabled puppets that are designed to teach children what it's like to be handicapped. The disablities we discuss include blindness, deafness, cerebral palsy, mental retardation, learning disabilities, asthma, and autism. We go into West Bloomfield 3rd and 4th grade classrooms twice a year (three weeks in Fall and Spring, 2-3 two hour performances per week). The style of puppetry is similar to the Japanese "Bunraku" puppetry. Help us foster disability awareness. Call or e-mail if interested. Sara (248) 360-8935; zoomzigner@hotmail.com.
